About this deal

The mechanism by which a Kindred's Grimnyr choose their ultimate representative in the Hearthspake and on the Votannic Council is unknown outside of their enigmatic circles. Yet all Kin know what this venerated figure embodies: wisdom, guidance and insight.

Odin and Frigga sat in Hlidskjálf and looked out over the nine worlds. Looking out over Midgard Odin said; “Do you see your foster son Agnarr, how he lives in a cave having children with a Jötun? But Gerirröd, my foster child, is a king and the ruler of his land.” A powerfully built male dwarf in chain mail armour, his muscular body festooned with scars and tattoos, his remaining hair in an orange crest. He carries the great axe Dreugidum (Waraxe of Doom) [1a] Strictures The goat grazing outside Valhalla is called Heidrun. She nibbles the shelterer Laerad’s branches and every day she is milked and fills a great pitcher with fine, clear mead; that pitcher seems quite bottomless. And the deer wandering outside Valhalla is Oak-thorned; he nibbles the branches of Laerad too, and from his horns a stream drops into Hvergelmir, the Roaring Cauldron. That is the spring from which runs every river in the nine worlds. Although the concept of a warrior god is a familiar one to Men, the concept of Slayers -- and therefore the Slayer God -- is utterly unfathomable for Humans. [2a] Holy Days [ ] Grímnismál (47), Reginsmál (18), Gylfaginning (3, 20), many skaldic poems, þulur, Óðins nǫfn (2), Skíðaríma (91, 174)

And in case you thought that the Leagues were going to be without any Psykers, SURPRISE! Meet the Grimnyr. A combination of priest and psyker, these Living Ancestors are powerful psychic clones from a very special Kin. Hekaton Land Fortress Poem from the Poetic Edda "No one gave him a thought of pity save little Agnar" by George Wright. The younger Agnarr offering the tortured Grímnir something to drink. Since they are privy to the sacred wisdom of the Votann, they are as close to serving the function of priests or religious leaders in League society as the secular Kin get. Equipped with barrier-tech such as Ancestral Ward Staves and accompanied by two energy-focusing CORV robotic assistants, the Grimnyr are able to rouse the fury of the Immaterium against the Kin's foes, much like other intelligent species' psykers. Odin and his wife, Frigg, were sitting in Hlidskjalf, looking out on the worlds. They turned their eyes towards King Geirröth, who was reigning in the stead of his late father, King Hrauthung. Geirröth and his older brother Agnarr had been raised by Odin and Frigg, respectively. The god and goddess had disguised themselves as a peasant and his wife, and had taught the children wisdom. Geirröth returned to his father's kingdom where he became king upon his father's death, while Agnarr dwelt with a giantess in a cave.

These near-mythical thinking machines are ancient, inscrutable, and senescent, and are dutifully attended by the Grimnyr – known to many as Living Ancestors. These blessed individuals split their time between communing with the Votann in venerated Fanes deep in Kinholds, or channelling their gestalt intelligence and skeinwrought power on the battlefield to empower the Kin and eradicate foes.

Listen to their names! Slow and Broad, Sekin and Ekin, Cool and Loud-bubbling, Battle Defiant, Fjorn and Rin and Rinnandi, Gipul and Gopul the torrent, Old and Spear-teeming, Vin and Hull and Tholl, Grod and Gunnthorin: these are the rivers that make their way across the fair fields of Asgard. Müllenhoff suspects stanzas 37-41 to have been interpolated, and Edzardi thinks they may have come from the Vafthruthnismol. Snorri closely paraphrases stanzas 37-39, and quotes 40-41. Arvak ("Early Waker") and Alsvith ("All Swift"): the horses of the sun, named also in Sigrdrifumol, 15. According to Snorri: "There was a man called Mundilfari, who had two children; they were so fair and lovely that he called his son Mani and his daughter Sol. The gods were angry at this presumption, and took the children and set them up in heaven; and they bade Sol drive the horses that drew the car of the sun [fp. 100] which the gods had made to light the world from the sparks which flew out of Muspellsheim. The horses were called Alsvith and Arvak, and under their yokes the gods set two bellows to cool them, and in some songs these are called 'the cold iron.'"] Much like the Vafthruthnirsmal that precedes it, the Grímnismál is rather encyclopedic and contains a vast host of information. Especially many gods and other beings are named, providing Snorri, and us with deep insight into all the dwarves and elves among others. Lord Grimnyr : This model can attempt to manifest one additional psychic power in each of your Psychic phases.Within the Votannic Council, the Lord Grimnyr is held to be the voice of the Ancestors themselves, as well as a walking conduit for both their lore and their gestalt might. Multiplier: Perpetuity's effects based on God of War ATK and charge bar gain are boosted (Can't be removed) Grímnir then spoke, saying that he had suffered eight days and nights, without succour from any save Agnarr, Geirröth's son, whom Grímnir prophesied would be Lord of the Goths. He then revealed himself for who he was, as the Highest One, promising Agnarr reward for the drink which he brought him.
