About this deal

This week, I decided to put my best conspiracy theory goggles on and investigate whether or not all of the scary stories behind Appalachian lore are just scary stories we tell in the dark, or reasons we shouldn’t go out in the dark. The Appalachian mountains were formed over 500 million years ago, being among the oldest mountain ranges on Earth. During the Civil War, when the family heard that soldiers could be on their way to the area, they buried their silver and some other wealth near the house to prevent pilfering.

During the 16th and 17th centuries, the cultures of the Native Americans, European settlers, and African slaves slowly homogenized and became a distinct culture that influenced a large part of America’s cultural identity.

The family claimed to hear knocking outside of their home–at all hours of the night–and whenever the Bell family attempted to investigate, they came up empty-handed. In the present day, people have reported seeing strange lights and orbs surrounding this damned village.

There were no eyes but only sockets where eyes should have been, no hair and the skin that was dripping off it's face was a cold, lifeless gray color. Byers says this topography “creates a vast number of ecological niches with differing elevation, slope, aspect, temperature, and rainfall. About 750 million years ago, the supercontinent began to thin and pull apart like warm taffy because of expansion of the continental crust,” Sandra H. Turned to go down the road and I happened to notice that the gas station off the exit where Mom and Dad lived had no lights on.

A few months ago Appalachia was trending on Twitter; someone was explaining what makes the mountain range unique, diving into some of the geographical data on the Appalachians, trying to conceptualize just how fucking old this spine is. The young couple had to hustle their way out of the place and around midday, they saw a silhouette of a figure standing in the distance watching them. UFO sightings increased significantly, and suspicious men in black were spotted throughout the hills surrounding the town. Rather, it is a story about Cherokee people as characters in the tale of how the Wampus Cat came to be. Taking a close look, the figure seemed to be ghostly in appearance and had the looks of a woodsy outdoorsman type with something that appeared to be fishing gear. What shocked the hiker more is that the man’s clothes seemed to come from a different period and never responded when he tried to say hello. She grew up in the woods and around hunting and things of that nature her whole life so she knew what I meant.

One treasure hunter saw the hair on his arms begin to bristle, and he felt like he was being watched. Throughout all the years they’ve stood, millions of different people coming from different groups lived there, creating a distinct culture that defines the region of Appalachia. As the group was about to get done with packing up, a group of children led by one parent walked out of the mist and started walking past them. The real story about the reason for the inhabitants abandoning the town is not clear but there are several stories around this.
