About this deal

When it comes to overall quality and value for money, anti mould paints don’t get much better than Ronseal. When it comes to damp proof products, Dryzone are one of the first brands to come to mind for us so any list about anti mould paint is naturally going to warrant a double inclusion. This time, we’re talking about their magnolia paint. Our paint is supplied in brilliant white and magnolia, and dries to a premium matt finish. If you require a coloured finish we also supply an anti mould paint additive. The additive can be added to coloured emulsions to achieve your desired colour and finish. How does Mould Resistant Paint work? Hands-On Expertise & Collective Knowledge: Our team boasts extensive DIY experience and in-depth knowledge. Of course, it makes a lot of sense to look at the environmental factors within your home to see if there are things you can do to stop mould in the first place.

The Easy Care Bathroom paint is an incredibly tough and durable soft sheen emulsion that has the ability to exceptionally resist moisture and steam. It’s for this reason, when painting bathrooms we always recommend using this particular product. For example, if your bathroom suffers from condensation, you could look into installing a proper ventilation system. These might be expensive to install but mould resistant paint is only really going to work for a few years before you’ll need to paint it again. Can You Paint Over Mould With Anti Mould Paint? Comprehensive Research: Our team dedicates extensive time and effort to research and analyze products, so you can make informed decisions. The paint prevents mould growth for up to five years, protecting your interior surfaces from deterioration as well as the health of you and your loved ones.A litre of PermaSEAL Mould Resistant Paint has a coverage of 8 - 10 m² on smooth surfaces. If your surface is rough or porous, make an extra allowance. How to apply Mould Resistant Paint Industry Connections: We maintain close ties with manufacturers and brands, offering insights into trends and upcoming products. In terms of aesthetics, this anti condensation paint has a clean, white matt finish which in itself is a look worth keeping. Start by removing any loose materials and make good any defects. Once you’ve achieved a smooth and clean finish surface, you should use a diluted mould wash concentrate. This will kill the spores in the surface. If freedom to customise is your top priority, this anti mould additive might be the solution you’re looking for.

Regular Updates: Our recommendations stay current with any changes in product performance or availability. In my professional opinion I would avoid purchasing budget anti mould paints. Adding biocides which will ultimately protect your surfaces from mould growth isn’t cheap. So chances are, a budget anti mould paint isn’t going to have a high content of biocides. Independent: We will tell you exactly what we think of a product and we would never recommend anything we wouldn't use ourselves. Dryzone are one of the top brands when it comes to damp protection so if trusted quality is at the top of your list, they might be a good choice for you.

Anti mould paint is more an inhibitor than a straight up fungicide so if you were thinking about painting over mould with anti mould paint, we’d advise against it. Ronseal isn’t the cheapest anti mould option on the market but at the end of the day you get what you pay for. If you want to prevent mould growth, this is the paint for you. Surface Preparation - 1. Remove any loose material such as old paint, grease, dirt, mould or defective wallpaper. Soluguard Multi-Surface Biocide can be used for wetting mould-contaminated wallpaper prior to removing it. 2. Make good any defects in the surface and rub down to a smooth finish. 3. Wash and clean all surfaces (walls, ceilings, window frames and joinery) using Soluguard Multi-Surface Biocide. If necessary clean badly affected areas a second time. 4. Allow to dry thoroughly. 5. If necessary, apply an appropriate primer or sealer to new, unprimed or porous plaster and wooden surfaces or bare metal. 6. For new or porous plaster surfaces use Dryzone System Mould-Resistant Emulsion Paint thinned up to 10% with clean tap water as normal good practice. Allow to dry thoroughly. This bathroom specific paint is not only useful in a practical sense of preventing mould, it also gives you an elegant finish that’s tough to match with typical mould resistant paints.

Our mould resistant interior paint is easy to apply and offers long-lasting protection from mould even in high humidity areas. It contains a powerful surface biocide that prevents mould growth. It’s effective on walls and ceiling, including in bathrooms and kitchens where condensation can be consistently high. So what can you use this paint on? Pretty much anywhere! I’ve used this stuff personally on bathrooms, kitchens, en suites and even pool houses. It’s incredible at dealing with high moisture areas. Whilst we went for Ronseal’s anti mould paint as our number one choice for DIYers, all the paints/additives we’ve included will do a good job at inhibiting mould growth. This particular paint is professional strength (but lower odour) and is one of the most effective paints when it comes to preventing damp and mould even against the most persistent condensation.

Note: PermaPROTECT Mould Resistant Paint is HSE-approved and conforms with COPR (Control of Pesticides Regulations). This provides peace of mind that the contained biocides are approved for use and safely incorporated into our products. Uses

It’s very easy to apply and once fully set leaves a soft sheen finish in magnolia resulting in a look that is sophistic yet simple. As a Mould Resistant Bathroom Paint, it is highly effective at preventing mould growth even in humid conditions like bathrooms. The powerful biocides are proven to resist mould growth on bathroom walls and ceilings. How much paint do I need? This particular additive comes in a 100ml bottle which is enough to mix with around 5L of paint. And speaking of mixing with paint, you can use this stuff with anything including emulsions, vinyl and if you’re brave enough, silk (sorry silk, but you’re terrible to work with). This of course means you have the freedom to choose your own paint and colour and still get mould resistance. Important note: PermaSEAL Mould Resistant paint isn’t suitable for use on wood, metal or plastic or external surfaces. Please also note that this paint may not be suitable for older or listed buildings where lime plasters and breathability are key. Bathroom mould resistant paint Whilst not specifically labeled as anti mould, Dulux’s Easy Care Bathroom paint works much in the same way as some other paints on this list.

Conclusion

Yes, anti mould paint does a good job at inhibiting mould growth in areas where moisture and condensation is a problem as the biocides contained within the paint damage the cell membranes and essentially kills it before it has the chance to grow.
